I think in every state it is illegal to tint your windshield below 5-6" from the top,

I always have the top, where it is tinted from the factory, and down about a inch tinted limo dark on every truck i have owned. Including the new 09 sCrew. Never had a ticket or even a question about it.

^^5% on the windshield!?!?! I'm sure it looks cool, but damn if he don't have trouble seeing at night.

He hasn't had a ticket yet because he hasn't met the right cop yet! Ga. State Patrol will certainly hand him a nice one one day. I wish him well, that's just seems too much of a risk to me.

I've got 15% on all windows and the front windshield. I am very glad that I got the front tinted. I live in FL and the truck would get very hot very quick if I park somewhere.. But now that the front is tinted it makes a huge difference. If you are going to tint the whole windshield, don't go too dark because It is harder to see at night when it rains.. I do have HID's which helps. But I highly recommend doing a darker strip on the top of the windshield, so its not as obvious. Even if you do not go really dark, having even 30% will be a huge advantage for keeping out heat and help protect your dash.

From the responses, it appears that the enforcement is more lax in the Southern states.

Just to clarify the 'just do it' response from one member.....Here in the great CA, where the CHP force is close to 10,000 strong, the odds are great that you will get popped and the cite (statewide fine schedule) is pretty stiff for this violation.

FYI, being from out of state is no exemption to the law, while operating here.
