Default weight limit

Do you have an idea of the weight/stress you can put on it. I have thought of getting a rack that holds a winch and use it in front if I need it. Also use it to hold a storage rack.

The winch could put a lot of stress on it at time. I don't do any real 4 wheeling, just when I get in stupid situations on county roads way out the middle of now where.

I do like this idea. After looking at mine, I wondered it I could just add a 1-/14 receiver and not remove the tow hook.

As for a winch, you can see in the last two pictures my winch. I've got my winch mounted in between the two frame rails, one of the rough country winch mounts. (looks like they've come down in price since I got mine)

I would imaging it'd be fine though. "cause what you are thinking is one winch that can go in front or in back depending on your need, right?

Well as an example of the tow hook strength, when you are stuck you can use a tow rope and a buddy to yank you out. That "yank" when the rope goes tight has a huge amount of force. Much more than you would see from the slow cranking of an electric winch.

So without knowing any numbers, but knowing what kinda things a tow hook normally stands up to, I would imagine the mount could handle a winch with no problem.

My Buddy just did his front hitch
.......on his 2013 FX4.....he did the Reese that bolts to the tow hook bolts

hardly notice its there.....and looks good......

I used to have one on my 04 and it was a receiver that bolted up to the to both tow hooks and was centered of the bumper. Previous owner had a warn winch that slid in so he can remove to I thought it was pretty cool I used it a lot to steer trailers down tight driveways on construction jobs

Yeah, I like the integration concept of these though - you could even keep receiver-mount tow hooks in the tubes while you are not using them for ball hitches or winch plates or what have you.

These are not in production any longer. I emailed Mohr Mfg, and he sent me some drawings to make my own.
