Default Front Grill and Bug deflector

I am looking for a video showing how to remove the grill of a Lariat 2010. After you remove the nuts it is some hidden clips that I do not understand. If somebody knows were is a video showing how, that will be great. I am trying to install a bug deflector.

You have to remove the grill to install a bug deflector? What a PITA. Search You Tube.

I didn't have to remove my grill. 3m
tape and 2 screws. Wierd a Lariot would be different from an XLT

If you are installing the Ford bug shield, you do not remove the grill. There are four brackets for the middle, two "clips" for the ends. To install the four brackets, you remove the four screws on the upper part of the grill, add the bracket over that, reinstall the screw. For the clips, you put the plastic sticky on the paint, slid the clip over the sticky and hood, and add your screw. Rubber bumpers go on the back side near the yellow markers.

I got a hood visor/bug deflector from cabelas because I liked the look of it better than others. To install mine, I had to remove grille. It was a pain until I finally figured it out. Take out the screws you were first referring to, then the grille is still "clipped" into the hood. The "clips" are across the top of the grille, I think there were 4-5 of them. I am planning on getting a new 3-bar chrome grille anyways to replace the black one that came with my FX4, so I wasn't all too concerned if I had damaged it a little during the process of trying to remove it. To unclip the grille, I pulled the grille away from the hood as much as I could with my hands, at that point you can barely see the clips, was able to stick small flat head down there to compress/push on the clip a bit and that did the trick. Repeat that horizontally across the grille/hood until you have removed all clips and grille comes loose.

where did you find that video? Was it online? Do you have a link? I am interested to see how they say to do it. Even though my way worked fine for me, wondering if it is the "actual" correct way to remove the grille. I will have to remove the grille again once I get my new 3 bar one anyways.

WOW, looks hard and I am not sure I can do that. I might just have to pay the Ford dealer, which I hate to do. The last two times the GM dealer had to service my Corvette the car came back with a scratch. I do not want anything to happen to my F-150, I love that truck.

The grille is pretty simple to remove. I swapped out my xlt grille for a lariat grille. What I did was remove the screws on the back and then you need to release the 5 clips on the top. I just stuck my fingers between the grille and hood and pulled it up. I started on one side and worked towards the other. It is a little hard on the fingers trying to pull the grille up but I didn't want to stick a screwdriver in there and pry against the hood. The grille goes on easier than the removal.

thats pretty much exactly what I did. No prying with the screwdriver necessary. I used the screwdriver to simply push the clip down while I was pulling grille up and away with hands.
