In the process of changing tires, so I have my stock rims on now. Noise is still there. I guess this confirms it's not rubbing issues. Did anybody find out what causes this and if it needs to be fixed?

My FX4 does this too when I make a turn and hit a slight bump on the road or an uneven surface. Sounds like it's bottoming out, definitely a scary sound to hear. My truck is completely stock too.

I notice taking a turn like that slower will keep it from happening, but sometimes when traffic is heavy and I'm trying to get into the place where this is happening, I can't afford to take it lightly.

Same here, happens at aprons turning in regardless of direction. Sounds like a mount or something metal on metal. Doesn't sound mechanical or anthing, sounds more like a blown motor mount or mount going bad. really weird. 2010 screw 4x4 lariat with 20s. less than 10k on it.

its the TC, ESC, RSC. I know mine does it too in the rain when it detects hydroplaning it cuts power and I feel the brake pedal rattle. Its the TC so its not an issue.

I drove around like a mad man today to reproduce the noise and it is ONLY when the truck is DOWNSHIFTING. Now this does occur mostly approaching a turn but it can be a slight turn and is at the EXACT time of downshift EVERY TIME. Any more suggestions? I am 99.99 sure it is not rubbing. When it downshifts it grinds and one does not occur without the other......

Default 2010 harley screw

Ok boys he seem to be the problem "according to the dealer". I bought a 2010 HD 4x2. I noticed that when I would make a sharp left hand turn or a u turn and I would hit a bump(escpecially when entering or exiting driveways or shopping center I would hear a real loud grinding clunking noise. When I took it into the dealer the stated that it was that the steering stops were not greased properly from factory. So with that being said I no longer have the noise. Its sounds a little odd that only a little grease would stop the noise. It sounded like the truck was about to fall apart. Call ur dealer and explain this and lets see. Hope this helps>>>>>>

Now that's funny! I just got mine back from the dealer too yesterday and they said the same thing! I guess time will tell. I have a hard time thinking that a "Grinding"noise can be cured by just some grease? I have a 2010 4X4 lariat with the level kit and after market tires and rims that the dealer put on. They kept telling me it had to be tire rub. I printed out this whole thread and finally brought all the pages in to show them. I got it back and they greased these fittings as well. I haven't had a chance to drive around much but so far no grind. But as we know if you have this issue it doesn't happen all the time. I will continue to follow this thread and see what unfolds. Keep up all the good work guys. It's nice to have a place to go to like this for questions and this time I am able to add something in stead of asking!

I can to cut the bottom spoiler when I first got it but that is normal for the tires and was a different noise anyway. They kept telling me it had to be tire rub. Interesting, I get it now and then and I really just thought it was TC. It sounded like the ABS Break was being applied. Is there a way to disable traction control??
