Go my problem fixed....
Turns to when Ford installed the Coilovers they didn't tighten down the upper ball joint on the passenger side. After taking it back in to have it checked, everything is tight now and there is no clunking any longer.

Mine does the same thing sometimes . . .always has. It’s the joint in the steering shaft, just below the power brake unit. It isn’t loose or worn, it just clunks sometimes. Usually when making a slow turn as well. Sometimes, but not always, you can feel it in the steering wheel.

Man, I would have left it, but with roads like they are here, it was driving me completely nuts! I'm waiting on Ford Canada with a case number in hoping they may step up to help out a bit. If we had smooth roads here in eastern Canada, where it would barely be an annoyance, I would have left it much longer.

Default clunking sound when make abrupt turn

2010 fx4 4in rough country 33 22 rims. Mine started after I lifted truck and got it back from the alignment shop. When I make a qwick jerk with the steering wheel or hit a bump it clunks all the time. Iv torqued and re-torqued inspected and re inspected and found nothing. Bringing back in tomarrow. Its driving me crazzzzzy! At least I can duplicate the sound when needed.
Day 2, Brought it in and even the ford certified tech of 30 years cant pinpoint the sound.
?????????
