Default Front diff

How much should i be able to turn my front driveshaft by hand until the backlash ( I think it's called that) catches up to the gears. I had my front diff rebuilt by a ford dealer (under warranty) but it turns a lot before it finally meshes together .

I would take it back to them and have them check it. I'd it's with manufacturer specs, I don't know how much more they can/will do. Sorry I couldn't answer you actual question, but even if I had the time to do it myself, I'd take it back to them as it is their warranty work.

Sorry I went out to check but I have the Eco with all those dam plates so I couldn't get at it and I didn't want to hassle through it.
