Nooooo, it's a puppy and that's what puppies do, they chew on things. Our 11 month old (at the time) Mini Schnauser chewed up a pair of my $300 prescription sunglasses. My own fault for leaving them at aheight that the pup could reach. I was mad, but not at the puppy, at myself.

The original posters puppy doesn't know the steering wheel from any other chew toy.

Only a moron would leave a puppy in the car long enough to chew something up and then take it on a one way walk blaming the dog. Is your last name Vick by any chance?

i find the whole Vick point irrelevant to any point u were trying to make. Last time i checked he didnt mention anything about dog fighting. and also, lets try not to attack people by calling them morons. thats just gonna start more unnecessary drama on a website.

Check out eBay. I've seen several 2009+ steeering wheels on there. You'll probably have to transfer the buttons over to the new wheel. Hopefully, the dog didn't get to those.

Good lookin' pup!

I know I certainly wasn't blaming the dog, I thought this might be a good place to share my troubles and maybe hear about other peoples dog/truck related humorous-at-some-one-else's-expense stories.

The crate certainly would've been a good idea. I was caught quite off-guard by the situation yesterday. If I had known, I probably would've taken her up to the obedience school where she could have romped all day, most likely for free.

She is crate trained for bed time but I plan on weening her off it at about 6mo. I don't want an animal so hindered by it's need for a crate such that every time we travel I must bring one along. In my experience, it's not totally necessary. *Not saying that full time crate trained dogs are inferior at all, just not what I want and I am willing to deal with (pay for) the consequences...

Now, how much of a pita do you guys think that wheel would be to do diy? I have the tools for it on an older vehicle...

Mine laid under the truck one day and pulled the wires out of the EVAP canister. Funny part is the next day he went to the vet to be neutered. It was scheduled. Honest it was.

This one decided he would eat my floor mats one day, I ran into the store, not even 10 minutes....came back and BOTH SIDES were chewed through. I told him he was bad and I got that face! hahaha......Just like yours how can you really be upset, the time this picture was taken he had just chewed on the Stairs, the landing all the wood in a 20 ft radius, While I was in the shower....He cost me more since I've had him than it was to buy him.....

Good luck with your wheel...Sucks!
