Have a full set of these on the way for 11 4wd. Anyone know any useful tips or tricks on front install? Does the upper ball joint nut have to be removed or can they be snaked by the boot? Thanks.

 

Upper ball joint nut needs to be removed as well as tie rod end needs to be popped out of the knuckle. Also the sway bar end links need to be removed from the lower control arm. Be sure to disconnect your batteries and your epas connector's before wacking on the knuckle to avoid damage. You will need to take the brake line bracket off the knuckle to allow the knuckle to be moved out of the and not damage the brake line. Use a floor jack under the lower control arm so you can let the front suspension drop as needed and of course frame supported by jack stands. I can be a bit of a pain to get the assembly out/in. Once you have all 3 strut nuts removed and lower strut bolt removed use a pry bar between lower strut and lower control arm to get the assembly out.
