Default Found something neat on my truck

So I was doing my oil change last week, and noticed a plug in. Sure enough I have an engine block heater...

Makes sense as my truck originally came from Wisconsin. Sweet! I tried it out this morning, I set my light timer to come on at 3:30 this morning, as the temps were in the lower teens here this morning. Made a difference for sure.

It was on my frame rail close to where my oil filter drains. Right behind the factory front tow hitch on the drivers side. Looks factory.

Anyway that's a nice surprise!

I want to say it is 7 states that are automatically configured with this when ordered, regardless of trim level. Can always be added to the order, too. Got mine used from Ohio, don't have a heater. Thinking about adding it, but I've never really made use of one. Despite it being -5 this morning.

The temp in Manitoba this morning was -30C.. (-22F), I'm sure my truck was thankful for the block heater this morning

I got one on mine too...but my truck came from Canada and I noticed right away because I could see the plug tucked behind the license plate up front. I am about to go install a 22" lightbar in the lower grille so I may have to reroute that plug to a different location. I have never used the heater though...I may start once it gets to single digits here in RI.

I don't think I've ever seen a vehicle without one. They come in handy around here, like the other day. Makes a huge difference just plugging in for a couple hours

Good lord....I don't know how you guys can handle that temperature. Stuff barely works and you can't be outside for more than like 2 mins without wearing a full snowsuit. A really REALLY good job or a significant other would be the only 2 reasons I would even consider living in that type of climate. I wanna pack up and move to Florida every winter here in New England and it'll get to 0 degrees F a couple times.
