Default Found this interesting underside of f150('12)

So i was going to be starting my project of spraying the underside of my truck with Amsoil (MPHD) Heavy duty Metal protector. But after going threw the car wash(under body still was dirty) So i had to crawl under and spray that sob clean got just little wet haha. And was super windy so going to have to hold of bit more.

But i saw this they have this crappy little bit of tape covering all these holes on each side of the body. One of mine was already missing. Great spot for snow/salt/water to collect and rust out. Gonna see if i can't come up with a rubber patch for those spots.

Just thought it was kinda cheaply done by ford. And others might want to keep eye in that area or come up with something to patch that up.

First pic shows all the tape spots

Shows how im missing one already. Also did few little test spots with the amsoil by the hole that was open already(can see oilly looking marks)

Trucks keep getting more expensive and when you see something like this it makes me wonder why they can't go the extra mile and fix things like this.

This was a thread already a day or 2 ago. https://www.f150forum.com/f38/normal-176583/

I get the concern over the rust. But these are called impact zones. Its the spot for the metal to crumple and absorb an impact...those holes are supposed to be there. Also some are places to hold the cab during assembly at the plant.

Haha! Yeah, kind of a weird thing to search for. Just thought it was weird to have 2 threads in the same week on this...and never had one (that I've seen) before. Also, working at a body shop i see this stuff all the time, so its normal to me. Totally understandable if someone thinks those holes are weird! Haha
