What device did you use to upload the coding? I have my HID's coming and will need to switch to the turn signals as I am worried I will ruin my HID's by having the headlights trying to run as daytime running lights.

Is this all a guys needs, but what level do you need - http://www.obdlink.com/mxbt/

Is the bluetooth or wifi version better? I plan to just use my laptop with it. I basically just need this to switch my daytime running lights, I really won't use it for much else.

After you have that do you just email FORSCAN and buy the software from them?

Thanks

I used the usb model of the same brand. cheaper than the bluetooth, and worked great. http://www.obdlink.com/sxusb/

first, download the forscan software, its free. then on their website, generate an extended license for the software using the hardware id that is found in the software that you already downloaded. there is a complete how to on this somewhere.

Hour meter don't show up on that screen on my truck. The other stuff does.

I had it show up on Forscan too, but it won't show on the cluster either.

Both of y'all have 12's, maybe that's why, mine is a 13.

Chad, have you tried any tinkering with the IPC to just get the RS menus and not the other stuff you don't have?

OBDlink SX ordered here.....

I haven't. I might mess with it over the long weekend. I will probably enter the FX4 values I have as it will probaby be closest to what I have.

My hunch is RS is the second line xxx1 xxxx xxxx

Here is what I found looking around on cars.com and checking VINs for as built data.

I found a 13 Lariat with factory RS.
36 Gal tank, 4X4, Trailer tow, Auto headlights (I assume), E-Locker

720-01-01
FF5F 7039 82B2
720-01-02
5529 6FEA 2829
720-01-03
0000 2B

My 13 XLT
36 gal tank, 4X4, Trailer tow, Auto headlights, E-locker

720-01-01
FFDE 7035 822D
720-01-02
5529 EC0A 24C2
0000 2B

On the 720-01-02 line, the 5529 or sometimes 5528 seems consistent with the XLT & Lariats that have the LCD screen in the cluster vs the FX4's that only have the basic text line display.

I'm thinking the RS stuff is in the middle group on the 01-02 line.
The other poster who has done the spread sheets found that 6FEA on RS trucks.

Am I correct in my assumption that using a Hex to Binary converter would show which bits we are toggling when we change the settings?
Also the last 2 characters in the 3rd groups are checksums?

I agree with the 6FEA. I only found a Lariat that was EFEA.

Maybe all I need to do then is change my EC0A to 6C0A?

I'm hoping my OBDlink will be here by the weekend.
