I don't run my truck without the tune so I figure should be ok just changing it with the tuner and from what I've read, changing it in Forscan gives mixed results...seems it works for some, some have to do some relearning to clear DTCs.
I believe its only on the 13+ that you can have varying success changing tire sizes. You'd need to use your SCT tuner to change your tire size and speedo on your 2011. 2015+, from my understanding, are the only years Forscan allows you to change tire size with absolute success.

I am running 275/70/18s and IIRC my speedo is off by 4%.

Cool Success!

Well, finally took the leap into FORScan yesterday and everything went off without a hitch. 2011 5.0L XLT 4x4 Supercab w/ first gen Sync on 2 line readout for the radio and LCD productivity screen in the gauge cluster.

Enabled bambi mode, remote start, DRL on the headlights, disabled hyperflash, possibly activated trailer sway control (can't remember if I had the option before), changed the lane change from 3 flash to 5 flash, turned off the belt minder, disabled MyKey. Tried to get the compass working as well, but no luck there.

Used this ELM327 OBDII to USB adapter:
Amazon Amazon

Bought this blank key:
Amazon Amazon

For the key, I had 2 OEM ones on hand and only 2 programmed, so it was pretty straightforward. Took it to Ace Hardware and had it cut to match one of my keys. Made me sign a waiver saying since I didn't buy the key there, if there was a problem it wasn't their responsibility, but since I wasn't having them program it they weren't very concerned. The lady who cut it was awesome and checked to make sure it worked in the door lock perfectly before sending me on my way for $2.29. Key programmed perfectly with the ignition programming procedure, and then just had to do the remote learn procedure. Easy peasy.

Now just need my remote start antenna to show up for some added range. RS is going to be a godsend way the hell up north come winter.

Something I thought of, and read through this thread, but didn't remember coming across this specifically:

I know if you have the rear window defroster, there's a menu to activate in the remote start menu specifically to determine whether it comes on when the truck is remotely started when cold, and it also handles the heated mirrors on the same switch.

My truck came with heated mirrors, but not the rear window defroster. Do I need to activate the rear window defroster menu with FORScan in the IPC module to control this? Or is there not a way to control it without having the rear window defroster and its associated switch in the HVAC to govern everything?

Or has nobody else dealt with this and I'm going to be the guinea pig? Not that I'm opposed to it, just a matter of digging out my laptop one afternoon.

You're better off not using the rear defrost, they have a habit of randomly shattering windows.

Good thing he doesn't have a rear defroster then.

Like it came from the factory that way? Or someone swapped out the rear defroster window for a non-defroster window?

edit: Just checked, XLT Convenience package included heated mirrors, rear window defrost came separately in the XLT Plus package.

Correct. AFAIK, came factory with only heated mirrors and not the heated rear window. The HVAC controls even show this since the button that usually has both the heated rear window and mirrors only shows the heated mirror on it.

I went ahead and activated the rear glass heat menu in the IPC module in FORSCAN, but I won't know for sure if it'll actually do anything for quite a while. Dog days of summer up here, and it most likely won't be cold enough to kick in heating when remote starting until October.

I changed tires sizes on my 2011. There is a narrow window of allowed tire sizes, so to get the 33s to read correctly, I had to change the rear end ratio and put in a fake tire diameter that was roughly equivalent to the end result of running 33s. I've posted about it in this thread.

Hi all. So, I've watched videos and they show people using software to view power balance, misses, etc (ex.FordTechMakuloco) Can this be done in forscan? I'm having a rough idle and would like to do some of the things shown to try and diagnose it. I'm reading through the thread and searching but no luck so far.

Any recommended options in the table/graphs to choose to try and monitor?

Thanks for the help.

Fuel trim is always useful. Misfire counts sound like somewhere to start. MAF readings, if you have one of those. (post details about your vehicle to get better help)
Forscan has access to all available PIDs.

Thank you. Oh I saw alllll the PIDs. So many its just hard to figure out where to start. It was in the 90s yesterday when I was looking at it so I didn't want to sit in a hot truck trying to comb through them.

Its a 2013 f150 SCrew 3.5 ecoboost.
