I have never used Forscan. Any chance I erase my one key and not be able to get it re-programmed in my driveway???
There is always that chance, even at the dealership they have that chance.

You can help this with two options:
1) Drive to a dealership and just park in their parking lot or very close to it in case something bad does happen. (Just tell them you are just looking but need to do something first like a phone call etc.)

2) Park your truck so a tow truck has easy access (it is what I did) in case the worst case scenario does happen.

I don't know 100% but I think if it does erase and the programming fails, you just start over and program two new keys.

This is also one of those times I would definitely not use an adapter besides the obdlink mx bluetooth and that usb RNLCOMP uses. Those would be THE ONLY two.

I have used forscan on 5 ford/lincoln vehicles to program keys and here is the best advice i can tell you.

1. If it fails to do it, you are either doing it wrong or the PATS chip in the key isn't working.

2. Hook the truck up to a battery charger while you are doing it. The unlock process takes 10 minutes and the last thing you want to do is have the battery go dead.

Took my two keys to Walmart today to have them cut. The machine uses fancy lasers to copy the outline of original key which made me a little nervous because I have only ever seen the old school cutters that cut/duplicate simultaneously.

The first key I gave the kid to cut was the expensive remote-start OEM key. After it was cut he handed it back to me along with the original and I really got nervous because the two high points on the new key were definitely wider than the original's peaks.

He put the second key in which was luckily just the $20 simple transponder key and I asked, don't you need the original back? He said no, it was still stored in the computer and proceeded. He pulled it out after it was cut and I could clearly see it wasn't going to work as one side was barely cut. He put it back in and re-cut it and jacked it up pretty bad. It's trash.

Fortunately the remote-start key turns in the ignition, so I guess you could say it cost me $20 just to have my key cut at Walmart. Will never do that again; especially with an expensive key. If they jack it up the joke's on you.

Sounds like it was more an operator screw up than the machine.

Was explaining what happened to my wife and she told me the other day her boss had several spare keys made for the office (at a different Walmart, same high tech machine) and none of them worked. Those were simple one-sided common door keys! If I had known that I would have never taken my expensive keys to Walmart.

Anyways, sorry for getting off topic. I digress.

So I figured out to enable the fog lamps as DRLS and those are working great but I had some other questions...

Would it be possible to have the turn signals AND the fogs on as DRLs? I think by default the turn signals by the grille run at half power when the headlights aren't on but I'm not 100% sure. The options menu had DRLs off by default so I dunno.

Also, Is there a way to enable the remote start menu in the gauge cluster screen on the 11MY? My truck came with RC from the factory but I'd like to be able to change the settings around it if possible.

Truck is an 11 SCREW Ecoboost.

Has anyone tried modifying the green led readout about the radio through FORScan? I know AutoMeter sells a device that lets you display gauges on it and I was wondering if there'd be a way to do that through this Program. I replaced the radio a while back and I'm tired of it saying "F150 Built Ford Tough."

Will jdunk54nl's As-Built options spreadsheet work for a 2013? His spreadsheet only mentions 2014, and 2015+. I have a 2013 FX4.

Will this instruction work for me?

It "should" work for all 2011-2014 model year f150's. I say should because ymmv on some of the changes. Example: Forscan Speedo corrections worked perfectly for me but didn't for others.
