I know that either Digitaltrucker or Ricktwuk tried this mod on their 2WD truck and it didn't work but on my son's 4WD XLT it successfully added Hill Descent Control after adding the $8.42 switch. Changed 760-01-04 xxxx x7xx xxxx to 760-01-04 xxxx x6xx xxxx in the ABS module and he now has HDC.
It was me and my truck for the record, that it DID NOT WORK ON, and is: 2013 Lariat, F150, 2 wheel drive. All of my as built is posted earlier, and no, the switch has already been sold.

I have not seen a 14 or below, with 2 wd, successfully add this. The ones that have that I have seen add this are all 13 and above and in the case of the 13's, are all 4 wd.
I wonder if these all have elocker and that is why?
Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

The last three posts on the subject got me thinking again, maybe it's the 2WD vs 4WD. I just looked in my parts catalog and the ABS control module is different between the 2WD and 4WD trucks, this is what I found:
2WD ABS module: DL3Z-2C218-C
4WD ABS module: DL3Z-2C219-B
My educated guess is that the 4WD module has extra circuits and programming to deal with when the 4X4 is engaged.
Maybe if you get an ABS module from a 4x4 you might be able to do it, but that might be very risky, as you do not know how the truck will behave with a different ABS module. There might be a very good reason why Ford used to different modules.

Initially i thought the ABS module was different between Hill assist and no hill assist, but comparing an FX4 to an XLT i found out that the part numbers were identical.

Oh and it probably got lost in the mass of information that is in this thread but there is one VERY important person that should be named 1st and foremost.
Z7What
He is a member of this forum and the key reason I created this thread, had it not been for him telling me about Forscan, this thread would not exist.
