Default Forged Internals for Boost

So my 2014 F150 screw FX4 is ok, but just like everyone else, I am not happy with the Roush tune. The truck has 45k miles on it under boost, so as I consider a tune, I really feel like I need to give the motor some love. I want to at least do oil pump gears and forged rods/pistons. I've also seen a lot of people go with the aluminator. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas or experiences.

I hope to one day run an 11, but I know that's going to be a tough feat in this heavy truck. Have considered going to an aluminum truck, but don't really like them anymore than the one I have, and I can forge my motor and add boost for cheaper than buying a new truck.

I'd love to hear from anyone in the F150 community that has experience with what I'm talking about, or if I'd be better off looking in another forum, just let me know.

You're probably better off in the Performance, Tune thread. It appears on the bottom of the first section of threads. You will get more answers there.

If you're going to breed an engine yourself, take it from me: pay the extra $$$ to have the engine dynamically balanced. I did a small block Ford engine some years ago, and that made the most dramatic difference of anything else. Take only the parts in: pistons, conn. rods, crank, flywheel, harmonic balancer. After that, the motor easily spun up to 8,500rpms, and produced power easier across the entire rpm band.

I assume we're talking about a V8 here...?

Yes, I am talking about the coyote V8. Good point. If I have a short block built, I hope to have a local shop do it. I figure there’s a good one in DFW. I’d have to price it out though.
