I have 800 miles on my 2104 XLT and that is exactly what my stick shows. It was fine until yesterday.

Makuloco has a video out about this. It appears Ford dropped a new TSB - 150003.

Kinda glad I got mine done before the current update. The new block heater makes cold starts much better.

should the block heater be plugged in for the same amount of time as the manual states for the ORIGINAL block heater? 3 hours?

any clue why there is yet another hose routing? would this have anything to do with the vacuum pump behind the drivers headlight?

It is probably still fine. Checking oil on these is a pita. On mine, I once drained all the oil, put in the exact amount of oil, and cranked it then turned it off. Depending on which side of the dipstick I looked at it would look like that or normal.

After 4 hours turned off if I check mine it is dead on full the first time I pull it. Wipe it off, push back on and pull out and it looks like that. Check it 4-5 times and after a cold soak overnight. I bet it is normal. Hope so anyway.

They're are those with legitimate gas leaks. Hope you are not one of them.

The 3.5 EB is the most difficult engine that I've experienced to get an accurate read on the dip stick. Only time I've truly been successful is when the engine has been sitting for hours. Even doing a second read on a cold engine is skewed, wiping the stick clean after every removal doesn't matter. Something with the tube smears oil up and down the stick making it difficult to determine level.

Only way I can really read it is by the holes above and below the optimum range. Top hole should be empty and bottom hole should have oil in it.

My oil level was about 1/8-1/4" over the high line, smelled very strongly during the dealer visit today. They ordered a new pcv and will do a pcm update and free oil change later this week.
