You're not stupid...!
Attachment 334879
Show him this.
I can't say for sure he did anything more than grease the spline. All I know is the noise is gone.

Got mine back yesterday.
This time they did like above^^
Shimmed the pinion bearing to reset preload.
Noise gone for now, but who knows with how many things they have tried with mine.
Fingers crossed.

The noise on mine seems to have solved itself for the most part. Only time it actually does it is when I'm in drive or reverse and I load up the throttle a bit with my foot on the brake.

Still NOT fixed after many TSB's
They FINALLY replaced the drive shaft and reprogrammed the transmission
and my 2011 3.7L 2WD SCREW feels 'tighter'......
GOOD
NOW it's back in the dealership
there is so 'obscure' TSB about the transmission pump, sticking valve bodies and blah blah blah
It banged/popped going into reverse
same in 1st to 2nd
how about rev up engine to move quickly, get 3000 RPM in 1st gear, pull foot of gas pedal and BAM!, feels like you got hit in the rear end
Well, drive by wire, transmission builds pressure by RPM to shift, you remove input energy quickly and the energy of the pressure has no were to go except hard slam into 2nd
that's my take on it
I had been on this since I bought this CPO in 12/2011
Stuff was bent on the drive shaft BUT it has taken this long for them to change it
BUT it's STILL NOT FIXED
Better BUT still SLAMS from park>reverse or 1st>2nd low speed high OR low RPM's
And to whomever at Ford, this CSM guy Mario calls me yes, and I call him back but have not since talking to him I think Monday
whatever
it's in the dealership again, got a rental but, and I am not trying to be asinine about it but at $100 deductible each and every time (because I was smart and got the Ford extended warranty when I bought it) is not something I like to do, for something that was supposed to be fixed with replacing the drive shaft. The guys are great at the dealership, but for me, it's the principle of it.

Got a call today from the dealer and there are done working on my truck for this problem and will not work on it anymore for this problem sick of Ford next truck will not be Ford. I have been a Ford person for life and this has left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Wish they would stand behind there trucks like Forest River would stand behind there campers. There tech line is a joke. with this problem.
