Plus now I have an f350 with the suplimental electric heater now so it's blowing heat instantly but even before I had that its always 70 inside before I even get in. I walk 20 feet from my house to my unattached garage or from whatever building I'm in to the parking lot and I'm not outside for more than 5 minutes unless I wanna be so even if it's 30 below Zero I don't **** around with a coat for 5 min. Though I do carry one in the truck in case of emergency.
I must have ability to press one starter button and 1. Work up to 1 mile away and have it confirm it started or not. 2. If already running with key have starter take over so I can remove key and lock truck and run into store for up to 15 min(with diesel it runs up to 45 min) and that's all I need really. Factory cannot deliver unfortunately. In my opinion the 100 series my truck came with is less than worthless cause nothing pisses me off more than pressing and holding multiple buttons and walking outside 15 min later to a not running cold as **** truck, lol! That thing worked like 50 feet max if I could see it. Junk. The 200 gives marginally better range but still not good enough. Plus lacks pull keys while staying running feature I use multiple times a day. That's my expert 16 years experience take on the subject. Your needs may vary but once you go aftermarket you never settle for factory ever again if you live anywhere cold enough that u care if it actually works when you press the button or not, lol

I am actually using a tmobile sim . . . I wonder if that matters. The sim in the rmu would be provided by a Canadian carrier so i assume it would work even with my rogers sim in my phone.

I just ment service provider for area coverage, if it does make a difference. I haven't taken my new truck to the states yet so have yet to try it.

It seems as long as you have a data connection, you should be able to start it in the US. I am guessing even using the wifi in a hotel for example should do. It seems they allow roaming with the rmu.

Id think a t-mo SIM would be bad as they don't work hardly anywhere, lol! Verizon and att do not share towers plus they are different signal types, not even compatible. it's only gonna work with whatever carrier sends you the 50$ a year bill I'd guess.

I too live out by Cold Lake ( Ardmore area lol) and it works just fine on my FX4 in the cold. It's not $900 either.... I paid just over $600 Canadian for the parts from the dealer in Westlock and the parts guy activated it from his desktop for no charge. That said the tards up here wanted something like $1300 to install it for me..... lol. I have it on my XLT and on my FX4. For the $50 a year it's nice being able to start the trucks no matter the distance or layers of steel and concrete I may be under. They use the Telus/Bell network for coverage and it works anywhere my cell phone does.
