Ford Atlas Concept - Next gen F150

Bacon?
Your staring at the first $70k 1/2 ton truck there. Cant be a ecoboost truck, they blocked the lower grill. It will definetly be interesting to see if the Ford truck buyer is willing to buy it. Looks space age and high end. I am sure the XL model is gonna be nothing like that. Is this the new look of the Raptor? With those tires it seems it is more off-road look. Hi-tech meets Redneck all in one truck!

So all us knuckleheads that bought the eco have to leave the front grill open and not block the air to the IC and now for 2015 they grilled the whole front end including active shutters that close at highway speeds and restricts air flow and now its ok to grill the front end of the ecoboosts for 2015?

that's what it says in the article. not sure how they did it. i guess we will have to wait to see the truck in person.

I think we're missing the fact that this is a concept here. This is just the basic shape in which we will see the new F150. The lights will have less rice, there will (hopefully) be less chrome, and the lower grille will probably be open in the production. This truck just gets your attention for what you will see. There's probably nothing special under that hood right now.
Either way, I like it the more and more I look at it. No square wheel wells! Yay!

The design features that give this truck it's awesome look come mainly from the severely angled windshield, it dramatically lowered roofline as compared to stock F-series and the wierd 'trench' down the middle of the roof (which reduces headroom even more) and the body sheetmetal that protrudes low in the top center of the windshield. Truck drivers like upright seating and lots of headroom...this show-truck is surely lacking in that.
As great as all that looks, I seriously doubt any of those features will make it to a productionn truck, at least not as aggressive as it looks here.
Too bad, it sure is good looking.

Having the integrated roof cargo area is freaking awesome. Looks like you could through an extension ladder up there, have it cradled at the tailgate, not need a ladder rack. Freakin awesome.

Theres no doubt someone will buy this truck as advertised. But it is too bells/whistled up for me. I see me going back to a Super Duty after my 2013 F150 runs its course. I hope this isnt the future of 1/2 ton trucks in all brands. I just dont know who there catering the truck to anymore. Obviously the truck buying public demographics is changing.
