Thanks Ford for looking outside the box! Some of us can see that with a little tweaking of concept vehicles, great things can be achieved

The roof rack/ tailgate rack is a great idea, but some posters are correct: It is incomplete if there is no way to conveniantly and safely use the feature without climbing precariously all over the truck.
The simple soultion from Ford would be to have a couple of deployable side steps near the rear doors, and some footholes in the corners of the rear bumper to facilitate climbing up there with the tail gate closed.
For just the reasons some here have stated and the real issue of overly-litigous people out there, Ford's lawyers may decide the feature is to risky to include and will probably just cancel the whole thing.

If I can get one for under $30k, I'm in.
Otherwise, I'll keep my 2012 STX.
Here are my thoughts:
The headlights are unlikely for production.
The wheel shutters are unlikely for production.
That little roof drop down into the windshield under the rack area... won't happen unless it's simply a "cover" over the glass.
The ladder rack IS likely for production but is more likely to be used for kayaks than ladders.
The grille will be different but will include the shutters.
The ramps won't make it due to liability.
The bed lighting will be available on the premium trim levels.
MyFordTouch will continue to annoy the buying public.
Hitch Assist will make it.
Trailer Backup Assist is a concept... probably not ready for prime time.
Power fold side steps will make it on premium levels.
Kudos for Ford for all the innovation. Whatever they're doing up there in Dearborn, the designers and engineers seem to have a lot of latitude. Keep it coming.

I'll bet we see some improved features that were listed, but I seriously doubt that we'll see more than 50% of them.
Headlights for example:
Mainly because HID is brand new, would they really change it after ONE year? No, the cost of LED heads would be enormous, coupled with the risk of any failures. In the auto industry HID is becoming the standard, with LED leading the pack. The F150 had halogen until 2013 (still does, hid as an option) where as most foreign vehicles have been using them for over a decade.
So, will we see a totally revamped, feature-rich, "master collection" of most desirable add-ons become stock available in 2014?
I don't think so, and $ wise I don't see ALL of these new things being reasonable for the end user. Sure we could get everything and more, but it would have a very limited following as I suspect it would bring the cost up to a "above reason" state.
Would I pay $60k+ for a truck with all of the proposed features? Absolutely, but would I pay 60k+ anyway for a 1/2 ton truck...? I can't honestly say the toys seal the deal for me. They're great ideas, but it would be tough to sell most buyers on it.
