I had a super 40 on my 5.3 and really liked it. On my 5.0 I have a 14" magnaflow with the resonator still there, it is pretty mild unless you are running wide open.

The super 40 was loud and a deep tone.

The Magnaflow 14" is what I am leaning towards but Im afraid it will be too loud inside without the resonator. A local shop will do a custom stainless catback with the Magnaflow for $750. When I had a 11 Ram Hemi with factory duals I got the 14" and left the resonators on the 2 tailpipes. It sounded good.

I have the 5.0 with a14" magnaflow and resonator deleted and it's too loud in the cab! I'm going to put the resonator back in to quiet it down a bit.

Post a video after you install the resonator. I wonder how much it would quiet it down if you just installed a 18" Magnaflow?

18 is too loud by itself too. Resonator is the key to happiness inside the Cab or a bullet like I did.

I would really like to hear a 14" with the resonator still installed. I looked through YouTube and I thought I saw one but it actually sounded like stock.

Ya I'll try to get a good video after I install the resonator.

I have the 18" Magnaflow. The tone is great, not as harsh as Flowmasters, but was a bit too quiet with resonator still on. It sounds great without it, significantly louder but minor drone from 1500-2000 RPM. Not really bothersome. The resonator is the key to managing drone IMO. If I had to do it over again I'd try the 14" Magnaflow and leave the resonator in.

I think you could do that much cheaper. I ordered my muffler and tip from Advance Auto using a coupon code and had them welded in at a muffler shop. Less than $200 including the install.

Also, if you take the resonator out you will have drone.

Is what people are saying that you will not have any drone if the resonator is left in regardless of what muffler you have? Do you have any sound bites of your current set up of the 18" with no resonator?
The price is for a single in dual out system replacing everything from the flange back in stainless steel. With dual stainless tailpipes, tips, and muffler, There are not many exhaust shops around here that do that type of work. I did find another place that's $600, but it is 2 hours away. If anyone from PA, DE, NJ, or MD knows of a good place; let me know. I want my exhaust to exit like this:

Did you put the resonator back on yet? I'm actually waiting on your sound bite/ report before I have mine done. I'm either gonna do the 14" with resonator, or 18" without. Either is the same price at the muffler shop.
