Last week, I purchased a 2011 F150 XLT Super Crew Cab. I added a drop in Pendaliner bed liner a few days ago. I am now looking at a tonneau cover for the bed. I keep seeing style side and fleet side. I don’t want to order the wrong top. How can I tell what I have or what is the difference between the two?
Here is the back of my truck. Thanks for any help!
Never heard the term fleetside before finding this link. Most are styleside or standard beds on newer trucks. The Flaresides, or sometimes known as stepsides were more common years ago. Apparently fleetside is just a term used by GM and Dodge to describe standard beds. Ford uses to Styleside to describe the same thing.
The article cleared it up perfectly! Thank You! I have always (incorrectly) referred to my Father In Laws old truck as a step side and I should have called it a flare side. I never considered the nomenclature was unique to the truck manufacturers. I knew someone here would have the answer! I love these type of forums!
