Can't find where, but I read on here awhile back where someone had 20's or something and the spare was 18!

What everyone is over looking is the fact the spare is for emergency use, to get you back on the road and headed for a shop to get your primary tire repaired/replaced.

It's NOT to be driven on for any length of time.

Don't expect the vehicle to perform normally when you have an abnormal tire/wheel assembly in use.

READ the manual.

Weird, as long as the tire diameter is the same, then all is good! Like I said I was blown away when I mounted my spare on the front and saw it wasnt Balanced!

That is weird. Most don't know your trailer tires should be balanced too. Saves wheel bearings and tire life!

I have 20" rims with a 18" steel rim spare(Ford being cheap). But the overall tire diameter was the same as the stock tires.

About what size would be a good match for me to put on my 18 in spare to a 275-65-20? It should still fit there too eh? And yea had to drive it 100 miles home but going to discount tire directly tomorrow.

My spare is the exact same tire as my other four on my truck 18" goodyear sra, just the rim is a plain black junker! And came unbalanced, is that a common pratice? I thought they were balanced from the factory! I know the small donuts that come on passenger cars are meant to only get you to a repair shop!

Even though most (Dumbass) people drive with them above 60 mph on the highway,(saw a teenage girl tonite on the highway doing this, speeds above 70mph) long distances! But, I dont see what driving on a matched spare would hurt if driving a further distance! Just as long as its not a 15" spare donut tire...

What makes you think it's unbalanced? The lack of a hammered on wheel weight? I've balanced many wheels and sometimes never needed to add any weight.

Yeah especially on a stamped steel rim.
