Default Flashing check engine light

Hi everyone, I am new to the forum. I am thinking of buying a 2011 Ford f150 5.0 regular cab with 167,000 miles on. The truck is in very good shape. My only concern is that when you give it a lot of gas the check engine light flashes and when you let up to goes off. What are the common causes of this and should I still buy it. The price is $5300 . Any advice or constructive comments are greatly appreciated, thank you

Buy a scanner or run it by an auto parts store and let them scan it.

I literally just searched for this same thing. What I read is that most commonly it is due to a misfire and in my case that is what my code reader is showing.

It could be a bad coilpack or the gap opened up on the plugs causing the misfire.

Buying it without knowing the issue is a big gamble, if it was a simple fix the seller probably would have addressed it. Eroded intake valves are a common issue on 2011-2013 5.0s and with 167K I wouldn't be surprised if the truck has this issue, but it could just be way overdue for spark plugs. It could be a simple fix that the seller overlooked, but without knowing the issue I wouldn't buy a truck that might need to have the intake valves replaced unless I was getting a really good deal and was financially prepared to put a lot of money into repairs.
