Well dropped off my 2011FX4 SCREW 5.0 for her first oil change and rotation trying to get the most out of the parellis. Took her in with about 3300 miles.

I also am having them look at a problem I was having with my rear defroster. It worked the first couple days. Then it would not work then the light flash a bunch sporadically. Think it is a loose wire somewhere but am not sure at all. We'll see what happens.

 

Well the rear defroster problem was with the switch, so need to wait for a new one to come in so they can replace it. ...got to love new trucks and having problems with them!

 

I've been wondering how many miles it is to the first oil change. I thought I read on here that our trucks come with semi-synthetic blend & can go 5k miles.

I plan to go full synthetic but what is the mileage for the first oil change/service?

 

The sticker said 5000 but I wanted to get the first one done at 3 plus to get my tires rotated..now I'll get the oil changed every 5k

 

It's in the owner's manual. 5k if you fall in special operating conditions, 7,500 or 6 months if normal

 

My dealer suggested having the first oil change done at 1500 miles and give you a half price coupon for it. Just did mine this week at 1532 miles on it.
