Default First Hitch Installation

So like the title says this is my first hitch installation. I am not completely new at fixing vehicles but never had the reason to install a hitch before.

I got a draw tite model 75691 for my 13 screw. I went to put it on. The bottom mounting holes look just right, but the top mounting bracket appears maybe to be bent of something. Maybe I just need to torque on the bots more. It look like the top part of the hitch needs to be bent out more.

I believe that that bracket should fit snug up against the frame when it is mounted and mine just is not. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or it is bent in some way. I have taken pictures as included.

^^^^ This is the front/top passenger mounting hole. The silver washer is to be in the frame hole. It is easily pushed in and can be at the time of the picture.

^^^^^This is the front/upper driver side mounting hole. It is more flush then the other.

^^^^^Just another view of the driver side upper front mounting hole. There is still a gap just not as big as on the the passenger side.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Your truck didn't come with a hitch receiver from the factory? I like you helper!

Mine was just like yours. I just kept cranking on those bolts and they drew right in where they belonged. Haven't had any problems, but all I use it for is a bike rack. Should be a 800 number on the packaging. Call the manufacturer for help.

Never. Lol it will never stop now. Eventually you will end up with so much extra stuff and little upgrades even inspector gadget would be impressed.

They 3/4 inch bolts....it was nice to actually have something beside metric bolts. Felt like I was working on the old truck I used to have.
