Finally tried Pennzoil Platinum oil. So far I like it a lot.
Wally World had the oil on sale for less than $23 for 5 quarts, so I decided to try it. In addition, Mobil 1 has not had the best wear ratings on several oil websites -- this surprised me too.
Now I will be the first to admit that this all might be in my head, but my EB seems to now be idling smoother, running quieter, and I am getting about 1.5 better mpg. I change oil every 5K, so it will be interesting to see the color change in the Pennzoil, as the M1 got pretty dark between changes.
Interesting that the Pennzoil is made from natural gas............don't know how they do that, but it is still interesting.

It's all good...if you feel it's running better then it's absolutely running better...I always feel a boost of power when the weather cools. Drive it with a smile and enjoy.

PP is highly recommended over on BITOG.
I change my own oil most of the time. I was going to run it in my truck but decided to keep it Motocraft. That way when I take it to the dealership for oil changes, it will be the same oil.

Whats even crazier... Pennzoil ultra is actually clear from the factory, they have to add coloring agents because people didn't like clear oil in the trial runs. It runs a **** ton better. I manage a pennzoil based automotive shop, and people love this stuff. Make sure you get the high-media oil filter too.

I too would like to hear how it looks after it comes out. I have heard a lot of good things about Penzoil platinum on here. My personal experience with Pen/Quaker State products has not been good though. I bought a 86 Trans Am when I was 19. The seller Bragged that it had been on a strict diet of Penzoil 10-30 for its entire life with regular intervals. When I tore into the motor shortly after buying it for some mods, The valve covers looked like Jello molds. The other parts of the motor had sludge and ash deposits. It looked like someone burned a bunch of paper grocery bags and then poured used oil over it. My slogan was always I wouldn't run penzoil in my lawnmower. This platinum stuff has me reconsidering though.
