Finally registered
Hey all,
Been checking into this forum a few times a day for about 6 months or so and figured I might as well register and throw up a few pics of my truck.
2010 XLT SCREW 4X4 5.5 bed.
Ingot silver with stone interior.
4.6 3V 3.73 limited slip
3800 on the clock and averaging 15.4 MPG 100% around town driving.
28% tint on the front windows
Bakflip G2 tonneau
Probably won't be any more mods in the near future but planning on LineX for sure and probably a level and some tires on stock rims but not in a hurry to take that plunge even though the stock rake really annoys me.
Here she is-

That's a beaut, Josh! How are you liking the Bakflip? I've looked hard at one, but may end up springing for a retractable someday instead. Then again, the Bakflip looks nice and is cheaper....

I love the Bakflip.
I debated long and hard about which cover to get.
Here's where I was at in making a descision on a cover-
Hard tonneau ala- undercover or fiberglass style- Too inconvenient for real use and can't haul anything tall with it on
Retractable- Takes up valuble space in the front of the bed. On a 5.5' bed this is more of an issue that with longer beds. Read reviews complaining of rattling at highway speeds which was a deal breaker for me. The possiblility of spending big bucks on something with a high probability of driving me nuts just didn't seem like the thing to do.
Fold-up and Bakflips specifically- most reviewers love them. A few HATE them for their own reasons. I got the G2 because I doubt I'll be working it very hard but If I just wanted to burn money or was still doing construction I would've went with an F1 instead.
I took my truck 2500 miles over Christmas and drove for about 8 hours straight in a decent hard rain. Did I get water in the bed ??? Yup. A little trickle in the front corners but not enough to dampen the cardbaord boxes I had in the front of the bed.
The function of it sweet. Folds up or down in a few seconds and it provides peace of mind that you can close it and lock the tailgate.
Thats my take on it. I got it from an e-bay seller for a $600 best offer including shipping.
Install was also done solo and very simple to do. Took maybe half an hour.
