A Few Qustions
I just purchased a 2009 F150 4x4 4.6l and have a few quest. do the dash lights work when the headlights are on during the day? And the manual states that the slidding car icon for traction control will luminate during start up my does not is this normal? Thanks in advance.
I have my lights set on auto. During daylight hours, there's no illumination on the dash (or gauges). Look at the screen area on the dash, between the speedo and tach. Startup the truck and you'll see the symbol for a brief sliver of a moment. Or you can run on a heavily rain laiden road like I did, hydroplane for a bit (unintentional on my part) and see the traction control symbol on the dash for several seconds.
I also have my lights set on auto. I haven’t notice my dash lights on, but if I got under a bridge where it is dark, I see my auto lights come on and my dash is illuminated. When I get back into the sun, it goes off. I never noticed my traction control light come on in the dash, but in states in the manual that it is always on unless, the button on the center console near the radio that looks like a car with the skid lines is on. If the light is on, your traction control is off, make sure that light is not illuminated.
I just ran outside, turned on my truck and the only lights I see are the air bag and seat belt lights. I don't think the traction control lights come on, it is just on all the time unless you turn it off.
