Default Factory Tint Ticket

So here's the dilemma. I bought my 2009 SCREW Platinum in Virginia. I do not know if Ford changes the window tint dependent on the state the trucks are sold?

WV trooper pulls me over and gives me a warning ticket for speeding....that was the nice part...i didn't really look at the ticket until later...when I noticed he listed two violations, one for speeding and one for window tint.

I only have the factory tint. I looked up the tint laws and it appears WV has 35% front/rear and back.

any idea what the factory tint on front and rear is on 2009 SCREW?

better yet, I'm in WV a lot... how do you fight a ticket with factory tint?

If there is a thread on this please point me there, I looked but didn't find one.

Thanks

Where is your vehicle registered? Those are the tint laws you need to follow. Not the state you are driving in or through.

truck is registered in VA. Everything is factory. Every window has whatever comes from the factory, back are the only ones that are dark.

First off, if he didn't measure the tint, then how could he write a ticket for it? Take it to court and plead your case. Only vehicle I ever had with tinted front windows from the factory was my Infiniti. And that was embedded into the glass. This should be an easy ticket to fight.

it was only a warning so nothing to fight....but it got me wondering, and nope he didn't measure anything, in any case, i haven't added any additional tint so shouldn't be a big deal. Just wondered if anyone knows what the factory tint is on back windows.

I live in WV and have a few friends who are state troopers. That trooper must be an idiot. Just request a court date or fight it by mail. I have 35% on my front windows and factory in the rear. They look about the same. 35% is legal but a lot of people go darker and no one ever says anything. I'm not saying that you need it, but if you know your doctor or eye doctor really well have them write something stating that you're allowed to have darker tint due to some type of condition.
