I love my 100 series, if I ever were to need more range, Id go with Fords a Remote Access R.S.

To each his own, I've read way more problems about the new PnP Ford kits than I have about the higher end kits installed by authorized dealers.

I made sure to pay a custom audio specialty shop that's been in business for years to do my work not some Best Buy tech.

It's nice that ford did the PnP option but it still lacks far behind the aftermarket.

I love having the range, the audible and tactile feed back, along with temp readout. There is also visual countdown timer so you know how long you have let.

A mile is about 5000 feet, that's a good amount. At least it can be acknowledged as a universal problem with the OEM starters. What is even the point of a 15 footer.

In the case of the fellow I work with - sure it starts good from his house. When it freezes outside all day UN-plugged though and I believe the Eco's have electric heaters as well? And he always gets others who manually start his truck to do his with the key fob.

Not ideal in any way. I'd be fairly aggravated.

I laugh when people brag up factory starters. Clearly they have never used an aftermarket starter. Astro start compustar or viper are at the top of my list. I've had a variety of aftermarkets over the last 13 years and they've all been better than the best factory has to offer. Clearly his buddy had a short somewhere cause he probably installed it himself to save $25, lol! Easily fixed. Mine sits 2 weeks sometimes and starts with no issues, not even a hint of a low battery. All the extra features rock. I'll never own a vehicle without one. I've had them all and I'd pay a $1000 easy for a good one. It's worth it. Trying to save a few bucks on this item will make you regret it. Been there, never again. Lol

Lol, well my junk starts every time from wherever I've been so far over the year and a half that I've owned it.

And I dont have to hit a secret sequence of buttons to do it. One push of the recessed start button and it fires up, the remote shows, beeps and vibrates stating it's started, locked, unlocked and what the temp in the cabin is.

I love waking up and reaching over on the night stand and starting the truck, by time I'm done it's all warm.

Hell the best was a few weeks ago when I was at the redskins/chiefs game at Fed Ex field and we got a bunch of snow and freezing rain. In the middle of the stadium I hit the start and by the time it took to get to it which was about 15 mins it was warm and de-iced!

I wonder if that premium overpriced Ford starter could do that?

Same here. And I don't wonder about the Ford factory starter, I know it won't, unless you pay 50 a year for the cell phone app, haha!

I'm trying to decide on an aftermarket remote. Reading about Compustar and having a Pro dealer/installer locally my thoughts are to go with them. On their web site it looks like their Mobile Drone that uses a smartphone app will work with the factory remote. Any one know if this is correct? If not, I'm just going to go with a system from Compustar. There seems to be no real hope with the Ford remote I paid for. Looking back on my paper work in 2012 the Lariat Plus Package that had remote start was about $1000.00.

I have the compustar alarm/starter with the drone (smartphone app) and I love it. I've had compustar's in 6 past vehicles and not a complaint yet

I'm sure that you remote started your truck the end of the 1st quarter like everyone else there.
