Default F150 vs Ecoboost Name

I don't understand why so many are calling their truck an "Ecoboost". If there is a tranny issue, it is an F150 issue, not an Ecoboost issue. I used the tranny as an example, but I see it on here all the time about tires, shuttering, rattles, etc. "Ecoboost steering problems", "Ecoboost brake troubles". We don't have to sound like the Hemi guys and name the truck after the engine.
Another thing is the Ecoboost is just a name for the engine technology, and Ford makes Ecoboost engines all the way down to a 1.0L 3 cylinder model. Seriously, that seems like it's approaching lawn mower size. The 3.5L in the F150 is the largest. It's not exactly a truck-like image when you consider the whole engine series.
I'm not cutting on the engine at all. I might own one soon. I'm just curious why some think of their truck as an Ecoboost.

Because thats what it is an Ecoboost F150. Being that it is a completely different type of motor sometimes Ecoboost problems are Ecoboost problems and not a problem that will affect the V8s.

You see that stuff with all the F150 engines on the forum.

"I drive an ecoboost"
"I drive a 5.0L"
"I drive a 6.2L"
"I drive a 5.4L"

Its really not limited to just the ecoboost

Ha ha! I find it funny you picked up on this. I hear what you are saying and I agree with ya. At the same time it’s a form of slang........American English culture is based on slang. One person on this thread started Ecoboost as a label and it continued from there. As of present there is only one Ecoboost engine for the truck, thus it is very easy for folks to single out their truck as an Ecoboost. Remember back in the late 90s when Ford came out with their Triton.....that’s all I heard was "Mine has a Triton" Triton was just the name for that series of engines. (Yet I know I know, you don't hear guys calling their 5.0s Coyotes.....LOL) Back to today-Again this is a very short, sweet, simple way of saying--I have a truck that has an Ecoboost engine. If Ford decides to use this technology across the board on all of their engines you will hear this label go away because it will be too confusing to identify. It's all about an easy way to single out something and be short and simple about it. No different than the Crown Vic Police Interceptor fans calling their cars P71s or panthers. It is a way to sound "cool" while yet identifying the vehicle---end result---Slang. Great observation!

I was thinking of that when I typed it. I have a diesel mower but I would love an Ecoboost mower. Maybe someday.
