I'm looking to mod a truck I do not own yet, but I wanted to get some vital feedback before I do so. Trying to decide what the trade offs are with gains and losses.

Not sure I need a 19 inches like below, but an iPad, mini or android device would be nice with an anti glare screen protector even better. In all cases it would need to be a slider and or pop out like I'm seeing out here.

All wired into the truck computer, so you look zero OEM functionally. In fact a few gains like side camera, front camera +++ anything you want, bypassing OEM.



Post your modification with technology and perhaps we can share some ideas to take this great truck to the next level. Seems doable as it's been done over and over already.

 

hmm something for the new gen as well, better idea, but not a clean look.

 

Steer clear of that Rupse, it's just a re-branded Chinese POS. several members here have been burned by it.

Thanks for the tip, we deff stay away from that company, I only want a rock solid solution that can be reverted to OEM, without even knowing it was converted in the first place. As when you sale / trade, some may not want something modified anyway.

 

This is the only solution for those like me with the 4.2" screen for the stereo. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500X009...m.html?tp=5684 there are other face plates/stereos for use with cheaper bezels and the look reflects it.
