Default F150 to Tahoe

I'm about to pull the trigger on an 08 Chevy Tahoe LTZ. I would be trading in 11 F150 SCREW XLT EcoBoost. The reason for the change is that I have always loved the look and luxury features of the Tahoe, don't need all the towing capabilities of my F150 anymore, and I alway need to switch vehicles every couple years ( I know it's not a good habit).

Anyone have experiences to share about the 07-present Chevy Tahoe? Is this a bad idea?

Beware of engine issues with the 5.3 is what I've read. Other than that, not much else.

Also, why not upgrade trims in an F150? Pretty sure a Platinum would suit your need for luxury quite well.

Other than bad quality rattly interiors you should be alright. Don't know why I'd want to switch from an 11 to an 08 personally but to each their own.

No experience, but I just hope you never look back on this and say, "damn, sure wish I kept my F150.."

Like if you needed to haul something or tow something, the F150 would do it all and is just as luxurious.

But hey, your money, not your opinion. Best of luck

There nice, I had a 09 tahoe for a few months. The 5.3 is a great engine. My uncle runs them in his fleet trucks. And hes got 4 right now with over 300k ...Change the oil and drive...

Funny thing is I am going from a 2006 5.3 Yukon (same as Tahoe) to a new F150. The Yukon will be the family trip car and the F150 will be for towing the trailer. We have really liked the Yukon, but not for towing

I have a few friends with Tahoes and Silverados. They all run good aside from having the Check Engine Light and ABS light lit up on the dash. Another friend has an Escalade, his runs great but has the Check Engine Light, ABS light and Air Ride Suspension light lit up on the dash and his speedometer and heated seats don't work.

I would love to get a newer LTZ Tahoe, but they are way too expensive for me right now. The one I picked out has 74k on it, seemed to dive like new and was very quite behind the wheel. I plan to take it out for a longer drive and get it up to freeway speeds (80mph) tomorrow.

Although you are buying used, I guess it's just buyer beware on any vehicle. GM just issued a recall on about 60,000 Tahoe's, Yukon's and Caddy's for a power steering problem -
