Default F150 headlight disassembly in under 4 min!

When doing research for my first retrofit, it seemed that the part a lot of people were struggling with was tearing apart or separating the headlights. I too struggled with this the first time around and it took me about an hour for each headlight, but now, having several retro's under my belt, I have fine tuned my method and want to share the video I made today as I separated another pair of heads for a new retrofit. I will start another thread with more of a step by step procedure for the rest of the process for anyone that is interested as I get this build going.

Teaser: This next retrofit will have black chrome buckets

Couple of key notes:
1.Make sure all bulbs, grommets are removed
2.Clean the lens before baking
3.Remove two screws shown in the beginning of the video
4.Bake in oven at 250 degrees for 30 min for easiest separation

I hope this helps!

Good video. Way easier than what I did. Took me 2 hours per headlight.

Lol! I was probably busy hacking my first retrofit up and swearing like a sailor

I wish I had come across a video like this back then but didn't find one so I decided i would make one if I figured out a proper technique.

Basically but you do not need to drill any holes on the back of the housing

Of course you remove the ballast but what about the round hid lens? I want to make sure I remove everything necessary before putting in the oven.
I bought a pair of c-clamp morimoto drls and will be installing myself. Just need to also get the butyl glue as well.

the part around lens is attached with screws to the lens itself. those screw will be reveled when you have the clear lens and black housing apart. you will be fine on the rubber that is left in the channel on the housing. i did not add any rubber to my housings when i put them back together and i do not have any moisture issues.
