What do you mean? You pop out the plastic covers in the bed rail cover and then mount the bull ring there. So you still have the plastic bed rail cover.

Clarify: this applies to 6.5 ft beds only. The 5.5 ft beds have the holes in the bed rail, but the plastic bed rail covers don't have the pop out cover, the rail cover is solid. Several earlier threads on how to fix this and still use the stake holes.

True. The photo I posted is from the Bull Ring site, but doesn't depict a Ford bedrail.

OK, here's a pic of the bull-ring with the Ford bed rail cover.

For the SuperCab, I will second the vote for Bull Rings. Installation was very easy. I did not want to drill into the bed so this worked best for me. I tried the extang cleats and did not like for three reasons; the screw used to clamp on the bed rail will scratch the underside of the bed rail; because of the plastic clips under the bed rail, the placement of the cleat is very limited; and the bed rail flexes under very little pressure. Also, I have the Extang Solid Fold cover and the retractable bull rings were not a problem.
I was able to haul two motorcycles (one Yamaha XT225 and one KTM 450EXC) with the tailgate closed over 600 miles with no problems at all. I also recommend the Erikson Retractable tie downs on amazon.com.

I've been working around uni-strut material all my life and it didn't even dawn on me for this application. That's what I like about these forums... some very ingenious people on here. Awesome application. Will shamelessly copy your design. Thanks

Danbart, nice rigging for tie-downs. However, what is it you have installed on the left and right just inside the tailgate? Thanks for the info.

That's the OEM bed extender.

Looks like your bed extender is attached even though you spray lined the truck. Is that right? If so, how did that work out? My dealer told me the extender wouldn't work on a spray lined truck.

I've got a spray liner and the OEM extender, works fine for me. I installed the extender myself, had no issues.
