I bought the 7yr/60,000 miles for Chester cuz he's been sorta a problem vehicle.

I'm getting ready to use it for the 1st time for the rear window defrost, a $780 repair.

I had an injector fail also, but that was covered by the factory warranty.

BTW: Lots of stuff isn't covered by the ESP, even the Premium Care.
I'd look over what's covered and what isn't before deciding.

Injectors aren't. Neither is water intrusion.

Wrong! I just pulled out my Ford ESP Premium paperwork and diesel injectors and gas injectors ARE covered. I don't think they are covered under just the powertrain warranty, but they are definitely covered under the Premium Care ESP.

There is a list of what is not covered. If it is not on that list, it is covered. However, the injectors are even listed under engine for what is covered.

You are correct that water leaks are not covered. All in all, most items are covered except maintenance items and those listed, which really aren't many.

To the OP - I f you have one month left on the factory 3 year/36k mile warranty, I don't understand your question regarding whether you should get the "3 year / 48 month" ESP. Did you mean 3 year /48K miles? If so, don't bother, because all you'd be paying for is an extra 12K miles over the original warranty, but no extra time. Whatever ESP you get, is indicates the total time & mileage, including the original 3/36.

And $1200 is too much. I checked one of the online dealers for a price, then went to my local dealer, who quoted me a higher price but dropped it immediately below the online price when I told him I had found a better price online. If your dealer won't do that, find another dealer; you can buy the Ford ESP from any Ford dealer. I bought a 7 year/60K mile ESP for my 2011 F150 three months before the factory warranty is due to expire, and it cost less than $1K.

ZEIGLERFORDESP.COM is still selling the FORD ESP for $225.00 off using promo code "GREGH"....

This promotion has been going on for a while, and Bob Cline said he'd extend it into the new year for a limited time.

Last I asked, there were 63 forum members who bought the FORD ESP from Zeigler and used the promotion code.
