Default Expected trip report

So it wasn't very eco on this trip from Illinois to southern New Mexico. The 100 degree heat didn't help a bit. However neither did the 8000 lbs I was hauling.

Overall I am very pleased with the towing performance of this ruck and motor. The only issue I had was that after three trip I noticed a bad noise evwet time I turn left. It turns out the wheel well l liner in the right wheel well was reformed by the constant 70mph hot wind and it now rubs the tire when turning left.

I just did 4000 miles from upstate NY to San Diego (through Illinois and NM, probably same route you took) then up to Sonoma (finishing up in Seattle later this week). I had 800 lbs in the back and averaged about 18.5 mpg. Despite this being my 3rd time across country in the truck, I was fairly surprised how much wind can really destroy your fuel economy - I'm sure it was twice as rough for you towing a much larger surface area. I never actually tow anything so that kind of mileage is an eye opener for me!

Glad the truck performed well for you - I'm always pretty impressed how mine never seems "tired" even after 1000+ miles a day. Hope you enjoyed that toasty scenic route as much as I did haha.

A did enjoy the scenery. New Mexico is beautiful. I had never been here until we moved here this past weekend sight unseen. I can't say so much for Kansas and Oklahoma though.

Double digit economy would have been nice but was not expected. My old tundra got 6 towing the same load so I guess I am moving up.
