Default Exhaust randomly pinging and clanging while driving.

2011 5.0 Screw, stock. 127,000kms.

my exhaust makes the same noises all systems do as they cool down after shutting the vehicle off. However, it makes these same random clings and clangs as it's warming up and at low speeds. It's not constant and only started about a month ago. It will also make the usual cooling down pings and pops for several hours after shutting down, like 8+ hours, which is a lot longer than it used to.

I've been underneath it and nothing seems to be loose, broken or rattling, even checked manifolds as best I could. Just wondering if anyone else has had this before a particular exhaust component failed? Thank you.

Could be a sign of a worn out catalytic converter. They make noises when they start to wear out or break down inside.

That's what I was thinking and afraid of at the same time... Thanks for your reply.
