4.88 gears

What kind of off roading do you do with that set up of yours?

Lol anything I can that don't get me broke or in trouble! Would like to hit the mud more but need rain for that. It pulls on the low end very well so rocky trails and hills are fun as I can keep it slow but still make it no problem

You hit trails in a full size truck? Where are these trails? Most of the trails that I have seen around SA are too small for a full size truck to go through without damage and are more for Jeeps and mid-size trucks. Well atleast the good technical ones that you actually have to use 4wd and some brains to get through are that way.

I returned a hair under 19mpg @83 when I drove from texas to california. The truck was brand new though. With the supercharger I doubt I'd get the same but you never know, my milage seems un affected so far.

Depends on the car you are driving, trucks of any kind should be capped at 80. In Ontario before the law where you loose your car on spot for speeding 30mph over the limit came into effect it wasn't rare to find people going 100 in a 62 zone...

I would disagree. These trucks hold the road very well at 90 + mph. The mileage sucks, but what do you expect pushing a brick down the road?

In Texas, you can get arrested for going over 100 mph. Back when the speed limit was 55 mph on the same stretch that's now 75 & 80 (back when the wide and I were still in college) I was pulled over going 95 mph in the Monte Carlo SS. It was in the middle of nowhere. The trooper was angry as could be. Walked up to the window and just said, "Boy, you are in trouble. Step out of the car." He walked me to the back of the car then walked back to his to grab his ticket book. As he walked back toward me, the radio went off, something about a rolled vehicle. He ran over to me and said, "Boy, you just got real lucky! Slow the f#@+ down!" Ran back to his cat and hauled *** out of there.

Knowing that him and any other troopers were now working an accident, I proceeded to test the limits of the car for the next 60 miles or so.

Yeah they aren't technical and usually don't have to put it in 4wd but it's fun to get off anywhere I can!

To a certain extent, they hold the road well but they can't brake for sh*t and do evassive manuvers compared to a smaller car like a mustang.

I had a crossover that could do 120 comfortably with good control and braking power, wouldn't even try going over 80 in the truck, feels like your driving on stilts.

Having owned a few sports cars, and conversely, a couple terrible trucks that handled terribly, I
and having more than a quarter century behind the wheel, I know what a vehicle is and isn't capable of.

This truck would be capable driving on the Interstate at 100 mph without issue. The key is doing it safely by allowing enough room between you and the vehicle ahead of you. That's true of any vehicle. As a general rule, there's very little traffic on the Interstates here where the speed limits are raised. They aren't that high in the city. It wouldn't be safe due to the amount of traffic.

Al, where do you offroad? I have run the trail behind Rudy's in Leon Springs a few times, and over behind the new restaurants by the Ferrari dealership, but that's all that's close by.

I don't think it matters what the posted speed limit is...

The other day, driving South out of Tampa on I-75, I wasn't really paying attention to the speedometer, just riding in the flow of traffic... I looked at the speedometer and we were running just under 90 mph... No real issues, but kinda scary after looking at the speedometer.
