I'm glad to see some states raising speed limits. Limits were imposed to save gas in 1973 due to the fuel crisis, it was not a safety thing. 55 and 70 (maxes here in Georgia) are simply too slow, especially given all the modern advances in vehicles and tires. I believe something like 60 and 85 should be the limits. Also, a higher minimum limit that is enforced as strictly as the maximum limit. And tickets for people in the left lane who aren't passing. Okay, I'm done.

I love the raised speed limits. Slow drivers are more annoying than fast drivers in my opinion. On I10 to san antonio speed limit is 75 i usually go bout 78, the slow drivers are the ones that cause traffic, which increases hazards of something happening. Most annoying thing ever is when your going along in the fast lane and the car on the left pulls out to pass someone in front of you and theyre going super slow. Especially when you were like right there so u know they saw you and that you'd have to brake for them

My mileage at 80 mph varies depending on wind speed, wind direction, smooth asphalt road, rough pavement road, hot temps, cold temps, and how flat the road is along with other things. I have gotten anywhere from 15 mpg to 19 mpg doing 80 depending on the variables so to say I would get 19 mpg doing 80 mph in every situation would be a load of crap.

X1 million. I very much dislike those that think the left lane is the fast lane when it is a passing lane. You pass and then GTF back over.

I am one of those annoying drivers if a person is passing me too slow in the left lane causing me to brake or slow my cruise control. If I think that they will not pass me fast enough causing me to slow down then I will get in the passing lane before they get to me. If they don't like then they can hurry up pass me so I don't have to slow down either. That is why I speed up even more when I am in the left lane passing someone that is coming upon traffic like in the situation you are describing so I don't break their cruise control either. I used to be nice and let the people going faster go on by but too many times people have not passed me quick enough causing me to brake and loose my cruise control so I don't run into the car in front of me.

That i can understand, its the ones where your clearly passing them and the person in front of them pretty decently.

Live in San Antonio and try to avoid that route. 4.88 gears with 37's don't like anything above 80!

In those cases I just speed up and quickly pass them in the right lane before I get blocked in behind them if I can.
