Engine shuts off
My truck died twice on me randomly. It's a 2013 F150 STX 5.0 . I let it sit for no longer than 2 minutes and fired it back up. It did so with no issue. So I drove it maybe 3ooft and it shutdown again. It never showed any indications of an issue but when it did shut off, it showed low oil pressure. So I climbed under and all over checking everything and everything looks good. I let it sit for about 30 minutes and tried it again. This was 2 nights ago. I haven't had any issue since. If anyone has any ideas on what this could be it would be greatly appreciated.
The computer is shutting down the engine as a precaution against oil starvation due to the low oil pressure reading.
If you have verified that the oil level is correct, then you could have a faulty oil pressure sensor, a clogged or malfunctioning oil pickup in the oil pan, or another issue preventing oil from reaching the engine. My bet would be a faulty sensor.
