Default Engine reflash pricing?

Tomball Ford is near where I work. I was thinking of getting the engine reflashed since a Ford mechanic recommended it to me so it has hte included idle fixes. I forgot to ask him about pricing. Anyone have this done? I have a 2011 EB.

Why not just get an aftermarket tune? I am told they are far superior to anything Ford offers. Improves several driveability aspects.

I was about to ask that same question.. I don't really need a performance tune and I want to keep 87 octane. Which tune is best to resolve the driveability issues?

Some tunes require that you get the PCM flashed to a newer revision, there have been a few guys asking about that lately.

If I remember correctly, it was $90 for the reflash.

Cost will vary depending on where you go since different dealerships charge different rates but $75 to $150 is about typical.

So an aftermarket tune won't do the same thing by replacing the current version? Or does it just edit parts of the current version?

Aftermarket tune is built off the latest calibration, thus oem must be flashed first.

What drivability issues are you trying to resolve? All you need on an ecoboost is the 1/16" weep hole in the intercooler and keep spark plugs gapped to .030 and changed every 30k miles.
