they put a teflon type gasket on there. It’s kinda hard. The shop is going to try and repair it.

I know this is an old thread but it's the only one I found. I'm looking for a good replacement for the original oil drain plug gasket (F75Z-6734-AA)
I would just use it over and over but I know it won't last forever. OEM is expensive and I know there must be something just as good or better.
Thank you for any help.

$4 is expensive, are we talking about the same thing? I suppose recommending an entire new OEM plug for $9 at Amazon would be out of line?

Those white Teflon gaskets suck. The built in rubber ones on the OEM are great.

The rubber gasket is intended for permanent use. (Ford's definition of permanent) As discussed above, mine was looking a little rough at 150k so I got a new one. 100k so far on the second one.

Added thought: The rubber gasket plugs have a torque rating of only 19lbft. Not like most plugs with a crush washer around 30lbft. I'm wondering if the teflon washers mentioned above are somewhere in between.

I bought one of these for my 3.5EB. Makes this part of the oil change a lot easier! However I have not discovered a good way to remove the old oil filter without making a complete mess in my driveway
