Default Engine change 2009 plat

Engine in truck is a 5.4 v3. Not the most powerfull in the bunch. Here is my question.
If you were going to replace it, what would you do and what would you replace it with?
Is the 5.4 capable of getting udates such as supercharger and assesories? Is it strong enough to take the upgrades, { cam phasors} come to mind?
What can be dropped in useing the same trans with more strength and muscle, heavy duty.
The reason I ask is that I really love this truck and its getting up there at 80000 miles. the only issues that I have read about on the truck are issues with the motor, and I would really like to drop something in there that would knock my socks off.
Can a 5.4 be capable of that with upgrades and be strong enough to take the added HP.
What would you do ? Thanks

Just add a s/c now. When the old motor lets go, if it lets go, then you can add a forged stroker by livernois and really have some hp.

The world of speed and hp is only limited by your checkbook....

+1 a 2009 5.4l should be good for well over 200,000 but probably not with a super charger on it, lol!

At 80,000 miles? Should be minimal wear if maintained well - I agree, supercharge it......or trade it in on an Ecoboost.

Is there a problem now with your engine? If not don't worry about it my BIL has an 02 with well over 250,000 miles on it the only problem is the rear seal is leaking oil. It is the 4.2 6 cylinder and it runs strong. My 4.63V 8 cylinder has 56,000 plus miles on it and I plan on keeping it for 4 or 5 more years it is a 2010. If you just want more power the 5.4 is a great starring point to build from but if you are worried about it lasting I would have to say Don't worry be happy...

Interested in what suggestions for s/c you guys have and what kind of power you could realistically expect that would be dependable. I too would love to add some serious power to my 2010 5.4. Trading it in just seems stupid right now as it's still in mint shape, low Kms and it's paid off.

I am looking at either the whipple or procharger for my 2010 5.4 but leaning more towards the procharger.

The real question is how much $ are you willing to spend and what does the truck need to do when ou are done. Buy a used low mile Shelby 5.4 with550 hand drop that in , that should get you anouther 80k mi,
