Default Engine Break-in Period

I have seen a few threads mention this, and I am wondering if anyone with some sort of knowledge are able to confirm this, or alternatively, deny it.

Here's my question: is there really a period where the computer on a late model f150 (2009+) will not give you full power? I read somewhere on here that the first 5000 miles the computer will restrict power.

True or false? Also, if true, how is this accomplished?

Thanks.

Never heard of this on the F150. I have on the GT500 to restrict boost until proper engine break in time. Then you get full boost after that initial period.
