I recently bought a 2014 F150xl 2wd as a service truck for my new start up company. Our season doesn't start for another month but would like to get all the issues taken care of prior to kick off. Over the past couple of weeks I noticed odd electrical things starting: wiper blades staying on, and on occasion while driving (normally when turning) that the dash gauges, radio, etc restart as if power was cut off and quickly restored. I was able to find that the wiper blade issue is a common thing and have a Multi Function Switch on order which should be here later this week. For the mean time I pulled the 30 amp wiper fuse to keep from running dry. So my other main issue is this intermittent power shutoff and restore to normally when turning. Today i stopped at the store, got out, hit lock on my fob as walking away and noticed nothing happened. I opened the truck back up and there was 0 power but a very distinct clicking coming from the drivers side fuse pannel and occasional loud high pitch beep from left driver side floor. I could not pen point the exact location in or Behind the fuse box. After 5 minutes the the clicking stopped and all power was restored to all parts of the vehicle. During the 0 power time there was literally 0 power at ignition, locks, etc. This vehicle also does Not have an after market security system and is completely stock. Battery is good, connections are good, grounds are good. Clicking sounds like a very angry relay or solenoid, i believe some type of switch. These newer vehicles have got me scratching my head.
Is this a common issue? Is there some sort of ignition relay in passenger side fuse box i cant find? Do these newer vehicles have inertia switches that may cause this? Thank you for any help!
