looked a little while for some wiring diagrams yesterday, but didn't find quite what i was looking for.

when i do this, i'll be sure to do a write-up. i was a moderator on another site, and did some tech articles a while back. haven't done one in awhile, should be fun

btw, used my locker about 6 times just on the way to work today. very wet weather here, and super-slick streets. TC off, locker on works great for taking off from stoplights without spinning (better than having the TC/one wheel peel practically stop me in the middle of the road)
You just have to search the board here for the writeup. All you do is find the output wire that energizes the coil from the tccm and splice in your own 12 volt supply. The diode is so you don't back feed 12 volts to the tccm from your added switched source.

I have been meaning to do my fx4 but since my diff started whining I think I will just put the Detroit locker I have had sitting on the shelf for almost a year now in it instead.

I did a small write up on it in the middle of anther thread, but it was like 60 page thread. I found an acc. wire under the dash and spliced into it and ran that wire to my switch. The wire that goes to the the rear end for the locker comes for the tccm and I think it is brown wire with purple stripe. Then ran a wire from the other side of my switch to the wire the goes to the rear end. I spliced into it where it comes right out of the tccm. It is in the kick panel passanger side. It is a pain because it is tight in there, but you can splice that wire in anywhere between the tccm and rear. I did mine there so it wasn't out in the weather. The diode gets wired in so when your switch is powered on it will not let the power go back to the tccm. I will see if I can finds some pics of it.

It is the brown wire with purple strip. It is the upper black plug in the picture beside the brown plug. You can see my red wire a little bit by the black plug.

Thanks for that! I searched over a dozen threads yesterday trying to find the right info. Seems like every time I almost found the right info, there was a wave of comments that pretty much said that modifying the TC/locker would cause utter chaos and destruction. I read "why do you need a locker above 20/30 mph" about a hundred times. Got really tired of wading through garbage.

For those that are combing the forum for this as well, including the word "diode" in the search really narrowed down the results

I always told people that a locker is good for 80 mph burn outs when I would get the " why do u need a locker above 20/30 mph."
