Default Submit your feedback to transport canada

I encourage all of us who are experiencing this issue to send in your comments. It is time Ford is held accountable.

"Having reviewed the evidence, I've made a preliminary determination that there is a safety defect with the brake vacuum assist system on certain F-150 trucks. I am disappointed that Ford disagrees with our assessment, and that is whyI 'm inviting Canadians who have experienced these issues to provide feedback that will help me make my final decision on ordering a notice of safety defect.I expect all manufacturers to live up to the high standards we have set for Canadian vehicles in order to make our roads the safest in the world."
The Honourable Marc Garneau
Minister of Transport

Default Pump full of Aluminum oxide

If the OP said it was filled with salt then it might not be a bad idea to protect it somehow such as relocating it or wrapping it in some type of shield or bag!
The aluminum oxide is caused by moisture incursion in the factory style pump which has been replaced in an aftermarket pump by plastic

The pump is assembled with what look like plastic rivets and I think they did not hold. The inside was full of salt. We have had a lot of snow and I think all the salt from the road had made it's way inside....what a piece of junk!
when you changed this vacuum pump did it solve this noise? And fix your issues? I’m in a similar spot. Loud on startup but no breaking issues. Hum gets loud every now and then while parking or reversing. Looking to change the vacuum pump but just want to make sure that’s the right fix

Just removed mine today. Took a drill to it to open up one diaphragm side and the inside looks as bad as the old ones I've seen. I'd say it's not a part design issue, it's a complete system design failure. I'm not sure when this one was installed.

This is after cleaning it some.

My pump kept burning up after a few 10k+ miles. Turns out my vacuum check valves were bad. Couldn't hold vacuum pressure. Here's the video that helped:
