Default Ecoboost question

So with my new Ecoboost that I bought the other night it got me thinking. I have to give it to Ford for thinking outside the box and doing something that no other manufacturer has done to date and that is adding the twin turbos to the V6 to give it tons more power and even make it more powerful than their smaller V8 and other manufacturers' V8's. But then I got to thinking. How much more awesome would their trucks be if they simply put the twin turbos on 1 or both of their V8's?

Also, does anyone know why Ford opted to do this to the V6 instead of a V8?
Thanks,
Jay

back in the 80's many makers started the 4 banger turbo performance craze...eclipses, Dodge GLHs and many many more. They wanted to give the impression of fuel economy and power at the same time. For all practical purposes it worked for the most part. Then in the 90s NAs started putting out 100hp per liter or so without turbos and they became the flavor of the decade. Since then there have combos of NA/Supercharged/Turbo powerplants made to satisfy everyones taste. Well I think the EcoBoost is sweet for some peoples taste buds...mine included

Can you say E.P.A. C.A.F.E. Standards. Any way the EB V6 is already making more power than you can plant on the ground with out adding heavyer and more costly drive train components. Bubbabud
